Our ultimate destination for the day was Soraypampa, which we reached after a midday arrival.

Upon our arrival at Soraypampa, we were greeted by the awe-inspiring panorama of majestic snow-crowned summits enveloping us. With our energy replenished by a satisfying lunch, we commenced our hike towards the enchanting Humantay Lake, cradled at the foot of a glacier. As we approached the pass, the trail became steeper and more challenging, but we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the Salkantay Mountain and the surrounding valleys. We took some time to rest and take photos at the summit, which stands at an altitude of 4,650 meters (15,255 feet) above sea level.

After the pass, we descended towards the campsite at Collpapampa, passing through a variety of landscapes, including cloud forests, waterfalls, and small settlements. We arrived at our campsite in the late afternoon, where our team had set up our tents and prepared a delicious dinner. We spent the evening relaxing and reflecting on the incredible experiences of the day.

Day 5Collpapampa - La Playa (Sahuayaco)

Following a restful night at our camping spot in Collpapampa, we awoke bright and early, indulging in a nourishing breakfast before commencing our trek. Enchanting vistas of majestic mountains and picturesque valleys accompanied us throughout our progress towards the designated destination.

After several hours of trekking, we reached the Hydroelectric station, where we paused for a satisfying lunch. Subsequently, we continued our journey on foot towards the town of Aguas Calientes, renowned as Machu Picchu Pueblo.
