Inca Trail Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - KM 104 - Wiñay Wayna - Machu Picchu

Our adventure begins very early in the morning with the pick up from your hotel in Cusco. We will head to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where, after crossing the impressive Urubamba River, we will board the train to km 104. From this point, we will begin the famous 2-day Inca Trail, ascending for approximately 4 hours until we reach the fascinating archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna. Here we will enjoy a delicious box lunch while contemplating a spectacular view of the Andean landscape.
After replenishing our energy, we will continue our hike to Inti Punku, the emblematic gateway to the sun. From this magical point, we will be rewarded with an absolutely breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, an ideal moment to capture unforgettable photographs in a quiet and uncrowded environment. This is also the official end of the Inca Trail. Afterwards, we will head to the entrance of Machu Picchu to take the bus that will take us to Aguas Calientes, where we will enjoy a typical dinner and spend the night in a cozy hotel…

Walking distance: 12 km/7.5 miles (8 hours)

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today we will rise early for an exciting 1-hour hike to Machu Picchu and enjoy the sunrise at this iconic site before other visitors arrive. Upon arrival, you will be immersed in history with a 2-hour guided tour, where you will explore the most emblematic sites of the ancient Inca city, learning about its fascinating culture and architecture.
After the guided tour, you will have the option to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Please note that it is necessary to purchase your tickets weeks in advance, as demand is high and spaces are limited. Each hike takes approximately 3 hours in total and we recommend it only to those who are in good physical shape and are not afraid of heights.
Once you have thoroughly explored Machu Picchu and captured countless photos of this magical place, you will return to Aguas Calientes in a comfortable bus. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a relaxing train ride back to Ollantaytambo, where you can take in the breathtaking Andean scenery. Finally, you will take a private bus back to Cusco, where you can rest and reflect on your wonderful experience.
