Day 1Cusco - Tambomachay - Purmamarca Village

Your adventure on the 3-day Huchuy Qosqo Trek to Machu Picchu with Q Adventures Peru begins in Cusco. This city is renowned for its ancient history. 

We will pick you up from your hotel at 6:00 AM and drive you to Tambomachay. Known as the “Bath of the Inca,” Tambomachay is an archaeological site. It served as a spa for the Incan political elite.

After exploring Tambomachay, we start our hike. The morning hike is a gradual uphill climb for about 3 hours. We will traverse through quaint Andean villages, wide-open pastures, and rugged mountain terrain. 

Around noon, we will reach Qoricocha, our stop for lunch. Here, we will have a hearty meal amidst the breathtaking views of the Andean landscape.

Post lunch, we embark on our trek toward the village of Purmamarca. This part of the trek provides more flat terrain, with a 2-hour descent to the village. Our first day concludes in Purmamarca. Here we will set up camp and spend the night under the stars, following a delicious local dinner.

It is a small village nestled in the Sacred Valley, where we will stop for lunch.

Post lunch, we will take a bus to Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress. Here, you will have some free time to explore the town. In the late afternoon, we board a train to Aguas Calientes. 

The scenic train ride offers stunning views of the lush, mountainous landscape. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will check into our hotel for a well-deserved rest.
